Wikipedia Goes Down

We don’t know how or why yet, but the world’s online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, has gone down for the count.

Wikipedia only went down a few minutes ago, according to the Twitter stream, which is already pumping out dozens of tweets per minute about the outage. There is only a “Server Not Found” message from our end. Wikipedia.org is up, but most — if not all — of the language-based encyclopedias are down, including the English one.

Unlike Twitter and Facebook, there isn’t a stream to check the status of the web’s de-facto information hub. We’ll continue to investigate what is happening and let you know as soon as we find out.

TED Ideas 'not' worth spreading--Tim Ferriss on fear

I am a fan of Tim Ferriss' Four Hour Work Week (4HWW), not because I believe that you can achieve four-hours a week work style. I see it more as a book of ideas that can help me move towards minimizing how much work I do and maximizing my efficiency. I also read his blog on occasion for the same reason.

But this video on TED was a big let down. This is by far the worst TED video I have seen and I would love to know how he schmoozed his way on to TED. What is interesting is the most popular tags people used to provide feedback: obnoxious, inspiring, long winded.
