Junk mail going down as credit card companies stop offering cards via direct mail

Direct mail offers sent to consumers dropped from 2.1 billion in Q3-2006 to just under 0.4 billion in Q3-2009, in what can be attributed to how the U.S. economy has affected credit card companies--or at least their desire to expand at all cost.
